BOTOX for Crow’s Feet Treatment FAQ

Botox helps reduce the appearance of crow’s feet by temporarily relaxing the muscles around the eyes. When injected into the affected area, Botox blocks the nerve signals that cause these muscles to contract, smoothing out the wrinkles and lines. This gives the skin a more youthful and smoother appearance.

Anywhere from $60 to $384. The usual range with our patients is more often between $180 to $240. Yes, that is for both sides. The cost depends on how many units you need.

BOTOX Crow’s Feet treatment will make you look more rested and youthful. It not only reduces out the crow’s feet lines around your eyes when you laugh or smile, but may smooth out those lines when you are at rest. The treatment can also help prevent the lines from getting worse.

Botox should not change the shape of your eyes. In some cases, it may gently lift your outer brow, giving you a more rested look.

In some cases, BOTOX treatment for Crow’s Feet may gently lift your outer brow. This is a good thing, but it would happen only if your forehead area above your brows has enough muscle tone. If forehead lines are treated at the same time, they may stop the outer brows from lifting.

Depending on how many crow’s feet lines you have or which ones we decide to treat, units of Botox usually range from 5 units to 32 units.

Bruising sometimes happens because there are many tiny veins in this area. Dr. Lum uses an AccuVein device that uses near-Infrared lasers to help see those veins. If you do bruise, it will usually be small and temporary. Older individuals with inelastic skin may see a difference in how their skin creases when they smile. This will be discussed in person. Extremely rare complications can temporarily affect the way you smile, or the muscles that control eye movement, which could cause temporary double-vision. Absolutely. This is considered “off-label,” because the makers of Dysport have not formally filed requests with the US FDA to seek approval for this specific clinical indication. However, evidence-based literature comparing Dysport with Botox is available, and most experienced injectors perform this treatment on a daily basis. DYSPORT’s radius of activity, meaning the area of muscle and skin affected, seems to be larger than that of BOTOX, Xeomin, and Jeuveau. 10 units of DYSPORT, a standard injection amount has a higher amount of active botulinum toxin type A than that of 4 units of BOTOX based on extrapolation from the Sakura studies.
