Isn’t it time to feel comfortable in your skin again? Don’t let frown lines dictate your self-confidence.

Why should I consider BOTOX for frown lines?

Frown lines might narrate the story of emotions past, yet they don’t need to define your countenance. At Lumier Medical in Torrance, California, led by the renowned Dr. Michael Lum, we offer expertly administered Botox treatments aimed at easing frown lines, helping you reclaim your youthful glow and boost your confidence.

Botox Cosmetic can be used to reduce the appearance of frown lines between the eyebrows, commonly known as the “11s”. The signals between the nerves and the muscles (see illustration) responsible for frowning are temporarily blocked, which gives the area a smoother appearance.

BOTOX for frown lines FAQ

Q: How many units of Botox for frown lines?

12.5 to 25 Units. 20 Units is the on-indication FDA-approved dosage.

Q: How many Botox injections will I need for the frown area?

Most of the time, 5 injections. However, it may vary from 3 to 7 treatments, depending on how your large your muscles are.

Q: How much is Botox treatment for frown lines?

Somewhere between $90 to $300 per treatment. The usual is typically an average of those two extremes.

Q: Will Botox erase my 11s?

Botox may smooth your frown lines as you can see in the photo examples above. However, it works mainly by relaxing the frowning muscles. It is not considered a “line-eraser.”

Q: Can’t I get filler for my frown lines?

It is not recommended to get filler in this area. Inadvertent placement of filler into arteries just deep to the creases can block flow necessary for vision and your skin tissue. BOTOX, on the other hand, is used to treat frown lines and muscles around the eye for therapeutic purposes.

Q: Are there other alternatives to Botox Cosmetic for frown lines?

We currently have 5 FDA-approved botulinum toxin products for the frown lines. In addition to Botox Cosmetic, we have Dysport, Daxxify, Xeomin, and Jeuveau. Dr. Lum does no longer uses the latter two products, because many of his patients prefer the longevity of the Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify.
